Launch of new Cargolux headquarters building

Cargolux Airlines and lux-Airport have launched the active phase of the airlines new headquarters building at Luxembourg. The building on the municipal territory of Sandweiler will be located adjacent to Cargolux’s maintenance hangar, to which it is connected by a glass bridge, and offers room for the company’s administrative staff with parking spaces. The airline’s training organization, including crew training and its two Boeing 747 simulators, will also be located there.

Cargolux adds Quito to its network

Cargolux Airlines has inaugurated scheduled all-cargo services to Quito on 2 July 2017. All four weekly Cargolux flights, that originate in Luxembourg and operate through Curitiba, Viracopos and Mexico before arrival in Quito, connect Ecuador’s capital to Amsterdam, Luxembourg and beyond. The direct services from Quito offer Cargolux customers an improved product and logistics set‑up with scheduled all cargo flights.

Cargolux named ‘Best Green Airline’

Cargolux Airlines International S.A. was honored with the ‘Best Green Airline’ award at the Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards ceremony, held in Singapore on 29 June 2017. The annual awards are organized and hosted by Asia Cargo News, recognize leading service providers including air and shipping lines, airports and seaports and logistics, 3PLs and other associated industry professionals.

Cargolux expands service between China and the United States

Cargolux Airlines adds Atlanta to its destinations served from Zhengzhou, China (CGO). The North American city becomes the second destination, after Chicago, to receive direct connections to and from Cargolux’s Chinese hub.

Cargolux signs sponsorship agreement with Luxembourg’s National Museum of History and Art

Cargolux Airlines and Luxembourg’s National Museum of History and Art - Musée National d’Histoire et d’Art (MNHA) - have signed an agreement whereby the cargo airline supports the museum with transport of artworks. The agreement is valid for three years. The sponsorship agreement with MNHA marks the second of its kind in the Grand Duchy where Cargolux already sponsors transport of artworks for MUDAM, the Museum of Modern Art, since 2004.

Emirates SkyCargo commences freighter service to Luxembourg

DUBAI/LUXEMBOURG 13 June 2017 - Emirates SkyCargo, the world’s largest international cargo airline, has operated the first of its scheduled weekly freighter service to Luxembourg on 12 June 2017.  On arrival at Luxembourg, the freighter was welcomed with a traditional water cannon salute. Emirates SkyCargo’s freighter operation between Luxembourg and Dubai World Central is one of the first steps in the implementation of the strategic operational partnership between Emirates SkyCargo and Cargolux Airlines announced in May this year.

Emirates SkyCargo and Cargolux announce landmark cargo partnership agreement

Emirates SkyCargo and Cargolux Airlines today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a strategic operational partnership in air cargo transportation. This unique and ground breaking agreement, the first of its kind in the air cargo industry between a mainline airline and a specialised freighter operator, will allow cooperation between two carriers with complementary strengths and shared values for customer service excellence. The agreement was signed at the Air Cargo Europe event in Munich, Germany in the presence of Mr Francois Bausch, Luxembourg’s Minister of Sustainable Development & Infrastructure.

Cargolux Group flies profitably through volatile 2016

Cargolux Airlines has proved its qualities once more in the extremely volatile environment of the international air cargo industry. In a year dominated for the major part by worryingly low yields, fierce competition and overcapacity, the airline experienced a robust fourth quarter, one of the strongest in many years. The net profit for 2016 totaled US$ 5.5 million while scheduled freight tonne kilometers grew by 10% versus a market growth of 3.8%. Its worldwide market share reached 3.9%. Cargolux moved up two places to the number six position in IATA’s Top 25 cargo carriers ranking for international scheduled FTKs; the highest position the airline has held during its history.

Cargolux again voted Best All-Cargo Airline

Cargolux Airlines International S.A. has again received the prestigious ‘Best All-Cargo Airline’ award from British trade magazine Air Cargo News during a ceremony at London’s Lancaster Hotel on 22 April 2017. Cargolux was honored for its continued delivery of first-class services to its worldwide customers. Votes were cast by the international readers of Air Cargo News.
